What happens today?

A ruracio, in plain English. No Kikuyu needed.
Ruracio is the Kikuyu bride-wealth ceremony. Dimitris's family visits Louisa's family home, the elders agree what the groom's side will give, and two families become one. Traditionally it was one of a series of family visits spread over months or years, ending with ngurario, the rite that seals the marriage. Today many families fold them into one day, as we are. It isn't the wedding, and it isn't buying a bride.
Tap any moment to see what it means and what to do.
Times are from the official timeline and may shift on the day.
Good manners: respect the elders and never interrupt them. Follow the speaking order, never refuse food or drink, and ask before photographing elders mid-ceremony.
